Material Transparency

Clear Material Classification for Every Crystal Product

Colored stones should not all be described as natural crystals. Every product should clearly state its material origin, material type, treatment status and natural variation information.

01

Natural Crystal

A naturally formed crystalline mineral, such as amethyst, clear quartz or rose quartz.

Natural origin must be verified before use.
02

Natural Gemstone

Naturally formed gem material used for jewelry, including materials that may not technically be crystalline.

Example: natural volcanic glass such as obsidian.
03

Treated or Enhanced Material

Natural-origin material modified through heat, dyeing, stabilization, coating, impregnation or another enhancement.

The treatment method should be disclosed.
04

Synthetic Crystal

Laboratory-created crystal or gemstone material manufactured to reproduce a specific appearance or material structure.

It must not be described as natural.
05

Glass Crystal

Manufactured glass used for decorative beads, stones and jewelry components.

It should be clearly identified as glass.
06

Composite Material

Material made from bonded, reconstructed, assembled or mixed natural and manufactured components.

The composition should be clearly explained.

Quality Evaluation

A Clearer Standard Than Grade Letters Alone

Terms such as A, AA, AAA or 5A are not universal industry standards. When grade letters are used, the inspection criteria behind each grade should also be clearly defined.

01

Color

Hue, saturation, tone, distribution and overall color uniformity.

02

Clarity

Transparency, translucency, internal veils and visible inclusions.

03

Surface

Scratches, pits, chips, abrasions, residue and visible damage.

04

Shape

Roundness, faceting, symmetry, cutting accuracy and shape consistency.

05

Size

Bead diameter, product dimensions and agreed size tolerance.

06

Hole

Hole diameter, position, alignment, chipping and blocked holes.

07

Polish

Surface luster, smoothness, edge finishing and polishing consistency.

08

Batch Consistency

Color, size, shape, finish and appearance within the confirmed batch.

Bead Specifications

Specification Fields for Loose Beads and Bead Strands

Exact measurements and tolerances should be confirmed according to the actual SKU, production process and approved order requirements. No universal tolerance should be applied to every material.

Product pages and quotations should display actual values wherever available. Missing measurements should be confirmed before ordering.

Natural Material Notice

Natural Variation vs. Quality Defect

Natural crystal products are not visually identical. Buyers should understand the accepted natural range while suppliers should control each batch according to the approved order standard.

Acceptable Natural Variation

Expected characteristics of natural materials

  • Differences in color tone, saturation and pattern
  • Natural veils, clouds, mineral inclusions or internal texture
  • Minor differences in translucency between individual stones
  • Natural matrix, banding, flash or pattern variation
  • Variation remaining within the confirmed batch range

Potential Quality Defect

Conditions requiring inspection against the order standard

  • Material type inconsistent with the confirmed order
  • Color outside the approved batch range
  • Serious chips, breakage or damage beyond the agreed standard
  • Blocked, badly positioned or broken bead holes
  • Dimensions outside the confirmed product tolerance

Inspection & Documentation

Inspection Based on the Actual Product and Order Requirements

Inspection items and supporting documents depend on the material, product type, order quantity and confirmed customer requirements.

01

Material Identification

Confirm the declared material name, type and known treatment.

02

Batch Inspection

Review color range, pattern, size and overall batch consistency.

03

Size Measurement

Measure bead diameter or relevant product dimensions.

04

Hole Diameter Measurement

Check hole size, position, alignment and visible damage.

05

Surface Inspection

Check polish, scratches, chips, pits, residue and edge condition.

06

Certificate Availability

Confirm whether a relevant certificate is available for the item.

07

Pre-Shipment Photos

Provide batch or packing photographs when agreed for the order.

Crystal Care

Storage and Care Recommendations

Different crystal and gemstone materials have different hardness, stability and treatment characteristics. Care instructions should be adjusted according to the actual material.

01

Avoid Impact

Protect beads and stones from drops, knocks and pressure that may cause chips, cracks or breakage.

02

Avoid Chemicals

Keep crystal products away from perfume, cosmetics, cleaning agents and other chemical substances.

03

Consider Hardness

Different materials have different hardness levels and should not automatically be cleaned or stored in the same way.

04

Limit Sunlight and Water

Avoid prolonged strong sunlight or soaking unless the specific material and treatment are confirmed as suitable.

05

Store Separately

Use separate pouches, compartments or protective packaging to reduce scratching and contact damage.
